### Background On 25 July 2024, Enchanted Tools, a French start-up founded in 2021 and led by Jérôme Monceaux, announced the delivery of its first Mirokaï. The customer is the Institute of Intelligent Systems and Robotics (ISIR), a Sorbonne University research unit in Paris. Mirokaï is not a biped: it is a humanoid torso with articulated arms and hands and an animated face, balancing on a ball as it moves. At ISIR, it supports work on interactive programming, low-level control of its 22 actuators and human-robot interaction behaviours. ### Specifications | Item | Detail | |---|---| | Locomotion | Ball-balancing base | | Actuators | 22 (low-level control open to ISIR) | | Use | Social robot, human-robot interaction | ### Why it matters It is one of the few humanoid-looking robots designed in France to move beyond the prototype stage. Enchanted Tools targets events, hospitality, retail and above all healthcare. ### Key takeaway Jérôme Monceaux sees it as proof of "the maturity of our prototype". A largely redesigned version was shown at CES 2025.
