1X unveils NEO Gamma, the home version of its humanoid: knitted suit, more natural gait, noise cut by 10 dB and ten times the hardware reliability.
What changes
- 3D-knitted nylon suit and shoes, for a less intimidating robot at home.
- Natural gait with arm swing; the robot can squat and sit.
- Noise reduced by 10 dB, comparable to a refrigerator.
- Ten times the hardware reliability of the previous version.
### Background On 21 February 2025, 1X unveiled NEO Gamma, the new iteration of its home humanoid, six months after NEO Beta. The design becomes softer: a 3D-knitted nylon suit and shoes, and light rings at the ears to show the robot's state. Locomotion also improves. NEO Gamma walks with a natural arm swing, squats to pick up objects and can sit on a chair. Its dynamic control, learned through reinforcement learning, runs at 100 Hz. ### Specifications | Item | Detail | |---|---| | Hardware reliability | 10× the previous version | | Noise | −10 dB (refrigerator level) | | Audio | 4 beamforming microphones, 3 speakers | | Control | Reinforcement learning, 100 Hz | | AI | Visual manipulation model for unseen objects and places | ### Why it matters CEO Bernt Børnich sums up the goal: "every engineering and design decision was made with one goal in mind: getting NEO into customers' homes as quickly as possible." ### Key takeaway NEO Gamma is the last step before consumer pre-orders for NEO opened in October 2025.
