Unitree releases the code and weights of UnifoLM-WMA-0, a multi-robot world-model-action architecture whose world model serves both as a data simulator and as a decision aid for the policy.

What changes

  • First model of Unitree's UnifoLM family.
  • The world model generates synthetic data and improves the policy.
  • Demos on the Z1 arm and the G1 humanoid.
  • Code under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 (non-commercial use).

### Background On September 15, 2025, Unitree, the Hangzhou-based Chinese maker of quadruped and humanoid robots, released training and inference code plus weights for UnifoLM-WMA-0. It is the first open model of its UnifoLM (Unified Large Model) family, a world-model-action (WMA) architecture designed for several robot types. ### Specifications - **World model**: it understands physical interactions between the robot and its environment. - **Dual use**: as an interactive simulation engine to generate synthetic data; as a policy aid, coupled with an action head, by predicting how interactions will unfold. - **Variants**: a base version fine-tuned on Open X-Embodiment and a version fine-tuned on five open Unitree datasets, in decision and simulation modes. - **Demos**: box stacking with the Z1 arm, pencil cleanup, packing with the G1 humanoid. - **License**: code repository under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, which prohibits commercial use. Deployment code for Unitree robots followed on September 22. ### Why it matters Unitree, best known for low-cost hardware, moves into open models. Its strategy echoes NVIDIA's: provide models to draw developers to its robots. ### Key takeaway UnifoLM-WMA-0 opened a fast-paced series of Unitree models: UnifoLM-VLA-0 in January 2026, then UnifoLM-ER-1 and WLA-1.0 in September 2026.
