At GTC 2026, NVIDIA announces Cosmos 3, makes GR00T N1.7 available in early access with commercial licensing, previews GR00T N2, a world-action model, and launches Isaac Lab 3.0 on Newton 1.0.
What changes
- Cosmos 3 unifies world generation, visual reasoning and action simulation.
- GR00T N1.7 in early access with commercial licensing.
- GR00T N2 (preview): succeeds twice as often as leading VLAs, per NVIDIA.
- Isaac Lab 3.0 in early access, built on Newton 1.0 and PhysX.
- ABB, FANUC, KUKA and YASKAWA integrate Omniverse and Isaac.
### Background On March 16, 2026, at GTC, NVIDIA unveiled a new generation of robotics models and tools with a broad partner ecosystem: ABB Robotics, AGIBOT, Agility, FANUC, Figure, KUKA, Skild AI, Universal Robots and YASKAWA. Jensen Huang said: "Physical AI has arrived — every industrial company will become a robotics company." ### Specifications - **Cosmos 3**: billed as the first world foundation model unifying synthetic world generation, vision reasoning and action simulation. It became available on May 31, 2026, at GTC Taipei. - **GR00T N1.7**: available in early access with commercial licensing, for production deployments with advanced dexterous control. - **GR00T N2 (preview)**: a next-generation model based on DreamZero research and a world-action model architecture. Per NVIDIA, it succeeds at new tasks in new environments more than twice as often as leading VLAs; availability expected by year end. - **Isaac Lab 3.0**: in early access, built on the Newton 1.0 physics engine and the PhysX SDK, with multiphysics simulation and better dexterous manipulation support. - **Industry**: FANUC, ABB Robotics, YASKAWA and KUKA integrate Omniverse and Isaac into their virtual commissioning tools, and Jetson modules into their controllers. ### Why it matters With GR00T N2, NVIDIA moves from VLA to world-action model, an approach Dyna Robotics (Dyna-2) and Unitree (UnifoLM-ER-Flow) also took in the following months. N1.7's commercial license marks the move from research to production. ### Key takeaway GTC 2026 brings legacy industrial robot makers and humanoid pioneers under one banner around the NVIDIA stack.
