Galbot, known for its wheeled robots, unveils its first biped at the World Robot Conference, the ET1 ("Galaxy Xingzai"): 1.23 m and 30 kg, driven by the same AstraBrain "brain" as its other robots. Pre-orders opened on September 3.
What changes
- Galbot's first bipedal humanoid; the company specialized in wheeled robots until then.
- A small format: 1.23 m and 30 kg, soft covering and Unitree motors.
- One AstraBrain model for bipedal, wheeled and heavy-handling robots.
- Learns new gestures simply by interacting with people, according to Galbot.
- Pre-orders opened on September 3, 2026.
### Background On August 19, 2026, at a forum held during the World Robot Conference in Beijing, Galbot presented the ET1, its first bipedal humanoid, nicknamed "Galaxy Xingzai" (literally "little galaxy star"). The robot danced, then improvised a routine with "Xiaogai", the Galbot robot seen at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. On August 31, Galbot announced that pre-orders would open on September 3. ### Specifications | Item | Announced value | |---|---| | Height | 1,230 mm | | Weight | 30 kg | | Covering | soft material for safe interaction | | Actuation | Unitree motors | | "Cerebellum" | AstraBrain-WBC, trained on 100,000 hours of human motion | | "Brain" | AstraBrain-Agent, shared across the whole Galbot range | According to Galbot, the ET1 learns new gestures in real time just by interacting with a person, without motion capture or video. On the stand, a simple voice command was enough for it to have a Galbot G1 wheeled robot fetch a drink. ### Why it matters Galbot champions the idea of a single "brain" that transfers from one body to another: the same model drives its wheeled robots, its S1 heavy-handling robot and now a biped. Co-founder Wang He expects a "ChatGPT moment" for embodied AI around 2028. ### Key takeaways Small, light and open for pre-order, the ET1 targets interaction and demonstration rather than the factory. Above all, it serves to prove that Galbot's intelligence moves from one body to another.
